Spike also captured his second pole of the season and held off Patch, who was in a tight battle for the oval championship, in the closing laps. Patch achieved the hard charger award after gaining four positions after starting sixth due to a qualifying session mistake and finishing second. cruisectrl, DusterLag and Grumpy rounded out the top five. ucrdoh has likely captured is second IndyCar driver championship pending reviews, finishing out the final event with a ten point lead over Patch and a fourteen point lead over Spike.
